    There was a fire near my daughters home a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately, the fire was contained and out by that evening and no one suffered any loss or damage. Yesterday I took my drone out and flew it over to the area to see what the damage looked like. This is what I found.

    My New Header Photo and How I Almost Lost my Drone Taking It

    The new header photo of my webpage was taken at a small obscure lake in Enumclaw called Bass Lake. It is not accessible publicly. I found it on Google Earth and noticed a private cul de sac where I could fly my drone and gain access. Of course, the photo shows the lake with the Enumclaw valley and Mt Rainier in the background. The most interesting part of this story is that I almost lost my drone.     Flying my Drone

    I went out back today and flew my DJI Mini 2 drone. I’m getting a little braver. I have to be really careful flying in the backyard because we are right under the flight path of SeaTac Airport. So I keep my altitude quite low, below 100 feet. Today I learned how to activate the fly home feature. It worked perfectly. I also learned how to make sure I have a home position fixed so the drone knows where to fly. At any rate it was a lot of fun. The fly home feature is a great safety device.
