Just My Imagination – Boys 2 Men
Here is a wonderful example of me rediscovering some wonderful music out of Motown. This song was originally sung by the Temptations, here re-recorded by none other than Boys 2 Men. A wonderful example of a great song that once went in one ear and out the other until I re-discovered Motown at a very late date. There are some wonderful vocal harmonies.

And the songs they sang are fun and introspective (I pay a lot more attention to the lyrics than I used to). You can tell what I like in music. The room fills with harmonies. I love it!

Rediscovered Music, Explanation
In later years, I have discovered (or I should say RE-discovered) music that never made an impression on me in the day, but music and musicians that I have come to appreciate. Part of my discovery has been re-recordings of old, boring recordings that went in one ear and out the other just because the original releases were so bad. Songs recorded with 21st century digital quality caught my ear and made me listen. When listening, I discovered some wonderful artistry, lyrics or harmonies. Another factor was my wife’s influence on me re-discovering some of the wonderful music that came out of Motown. I must confess, R&B and Motown bored…
