Tiny Dancer – Elton John
My piano inspiration in the 70s. This is his classic song Tiny Dancer. He sang this live when my sister Alice and I saw him in Berkeley, CA, October 1972. I became a big fan of his that year. I played a lot of his music in the 70s and continued to train my ear to play by ear as I did. I suppose I have him to thank for that. Elton John – a musical inspiration
I discovered Elton John quite by accident in 1972. I saw an obscure movie entitled “Friends” and he did the score. It is quite good. The music was very fitting, emotional and inspirational. I became an immediate fan when I found he played the piano. How about that. A rock musician who plays the piano. From then on, he was my primary inspiration at my own keyboard. He remained so until 1980. I’ve also attended more Elton John concerts than any other artist. He puts on a fabulous show.
