Follow the Science! But Not to find God
I believe science is a good thing. The pure practice of the scientific method is the best way we have to understand our universe. But I am also a Christian and believe in the existence of God. And the way I see it, there is no conflict. I have learned that there are some things science can NOT observe, test or know. Science is for this 3 dimensional physical world we live in. It is worse than useless to explore that which is transcendent and spiritual. It can even lead you astray if you do not recognize it’s limits.
There was a scientist, D.M.S. Watson, professor of zoology at London University, who said, “Evolution is a theory universally accepted, not because it can be proved to be true, but because the only alternative, ‘special creation’ is clearly impossible.” But that’s the whole point of creation. It came from outside our universe. From our view, it IS impossible. But that does not mean a transcendent Creator could not do what God claims He did.
“And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.””

How does science find God? God can not be measured because He is not a quantity. He is spirit. God cannot be located because He is omnipresent. God is not even subject to time and space because He is the creator of time and space. God cannot be seen unless He manifests Himself in some way because He is defined as an invisible Spirit that fills the heavens and the Earth. Watson’s science has led him astray.
Where are these definitions of God? In the Word of God, given to us so we can know God. That Word is also known as the Bible. All of these definitions are clearly declared in the Bible. And none of them can be proven by science. Yet they are true. The atheist will not accept this. But my experience as one who once disbelieved and demanded scientific evidence for Gods existence is – you must come to a place where you know God by experience and by encounter. Then you will learn that the Spirit of God will lead you and guide you into the truth. And you will finally see that faith in God is the only open door where you can walk through and He begins to reveal His truth to you. It will not work any other way. You can continue to demand scientific proof before you believe. And you will continue to NOT receive and NOT know. That’s just the way it is. Science cannot find God any more than it can find a human spirit.
You think I’m crazy for believing that? Years ago as a new Christian, I would have been intimidated by the world and attempt to prove/justify my case scientifically. But nowadays, I really don’t care what unbelievers think. I know in Whom I believe. I’ve seen God do many miraculous things in my life. And yet I support the scientific method.
The atheist has no answers and no hope. Their position does not help me. They deny that which I have experienced and know to be true. God has left us a written record that spans thousands of years. God also presently works in believers lives. There is lots of evidence of Gods existence. Atheists simply deny it all. Who needs that?
Science is a pure practice. Scientists, on the other hand, are just sinners like everyone else. Their personal views can get in the way of truth just like anyone else. And scientists are just as prone to bias as anyone else. Watson probably thought he was stating a sound scientific idea. Instead, he was not recognizing the limits of the scientific discipline. And he was not seeing his own bias. To atheists, impossibility ends the debate. To the believer, impossibility is where man stops and God takes over. And in the case of creation, it is only impossible if you are not the Creator.
One more thing. You can agree with what I’ve said here regarding the limitations of the scientific method. Yet you will still pick up your God phone and have no dial tone. This is because you have missed the REAL fundamental problem with man and God. Sin has separated us from God. That is the real reason people don’t see Gods activity. They are cutoff from God. And the sad thing is that man was made to be in total unity with God. The fix is Jesus Christ. God, with Jesus has made a way of reconciliation with God. Read John chapter 3 in your Bible. We all must believe in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection and repent for the forgiveness of our sin so we can be united with God not just now but for eternity. Then your communication with God will be restored. And your soul will be saved from eternal separation from God. You don’t want eternal separation.
Repentance: reviewing one’s actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better.
