My Musical Journey

Remembering

This song was written by Ashley Campbell, the daughter of the one and only Glen Campbell. When Glen developed Alzheimer’s Disease, the family pulled in close.

Daddy and his kids

Ashley, in particular, was very close to her dad. Expressing her heart toward him, she promised that when he couldn’t remember things, “Daddy, don’t you worry, I’ll do the remembering.” How sweet.

I’ve heard this song many times and follow Ashley on social media because her devotion to her dad touched my heart. My own dad struggled with dementia as he aged. I can understand to some degree what she has gone through. The ones we have known in the past that were our rocks are now struggling and then gone.

I was listening to this song and thought it would be a good song to include in my category “My Musical Journey.” And I also realized I have 3 sisters and a mom who would be blessed by this song too. So here it is.
